THC % Doesn’t Matter

6 Factors More Important Than The Amount Of THC In Your Cannabis

Most of us love THC, or at least put quite a bit of focus on it.

But is it really that important?

In short, no.

Let’s look into 7 factors that are more important for your cannabis experience than the amount of THC.

How It Was Grown

The growing process makes a difference for your cannabis - especially when it comes to pesticides used. The most naturally & organically grown cannabis is best for your health.

Just note that cannabis in the US can’t actually come labeled as organically grown so it pays to do your research into the grower.

Cannabis grown locally to you is a great choice too for many of the same reasons you buy locally grown veggies - things like freshness and supporting local business.

Aesthetics

Take a look at your bud and consider what you see. Notice any mold, mildew, or lots of seeds? Pick something else.

The colors & crystaliness (a word I’m making up) of the bud can be a sign of certain effects you enjoy as well.

Trichome Density

Speaking of cystaliness, checking out how sticky those buds are shows you the density of the trichomes.

Why does this matter?

Because the trichomes hold the good stuff, cannabinoids & terpenes to name two.

Terpene Profile

Whenever you can, find out the terpene profile of your bud. Terpenes steer your cannabis experience so knowing which terpenes you enjoy and how they work on you makes quite a difference.

Getting the exact terp profile is not always possible, so rely on your nose to find the smell(s) you like.

Entourage Effect

The entourage effect is massively important when it comes to the cannabis experience but little is really known about it.

The entourage effect is the way in which the cannabinoids (major & minor), the terpenes, flavinoids, and all the other compounds within the cannabis plant work together.

We know THC gets you high and CBD is often touted as the calming cannabinoid but the reality is using them in isolation only provides you with a piece of the fabulous puzzle.

You can think of it this way - juicing vegetables is nice and will provide you with health benefits but eating the whole vegetable is better, giving your body what it really needs.

This is way simplified though, cannabis compounds are amazing… and complicated.

Your Overall Personal Experience

Even more important than the entourage effect, or any other factor for that matter, is your personal experience.

Learn what dose works for you, the strains that you enjoy, and the terpenes that provide the effects you're looking for. Then stay aware of how it’s working for you

One helpful tool for getting to know your cannabis is the tCheck Potency Tester. This device measures the THC & CBD in your bud so you know what you’re getting.

This is also where conscious cannabis consumption and even a cannabis health coach can be incredibly helpful. Accountability, tracking consumption, and working to reach goals with the help of cannabis are all attainable with a cannabis health coach.
